Don DeBiase:

DonDon DeBiase was born and raised in Englewood, NJ.  He grew up listening to the iconic New York City Top 40 radio stations like WABC, WMCA, and WINS.  This influenced his decision to major in communications at Graham College in Boston, MA.

Don has worked at radio stations in Virginia, Florida, Kentucky and North Carolina.  He and his family moved to Brevard in 1991 where he currently resides.    Don is now the beloved Morning Host of Q102 FM and hosts with Ea Dossey weekday mornings show from 7AM to 9AM.   ddebiase@wsqlradio.com

Ea Dossey:

EaCroppedEa, a graduate of Brevard High School,  has a BS in Comm./Public Relations from WCU.
Ea married her high school sweetheart, Roy, and moved away while Roy served in the USAF. They spent three years in England and have lived in many parts of the US.  After Roy was discharged, he and Ea moved back to Brevard to raise their two children, Madi and Brayden.

Ea has served on the Brevard Board of REALTORS as President for 2008 and 2009, SAFE, and the Heart of Brevard.   Ea joined WSQL  in 2011 as News Director and joined Don DeBiase on his morning show.  In 2012, Ea and family moved to Steamboat Springs, CO.  Although the Rocky Mountains are beautiful, nothing compares to the Blue Ridge Mountains. Ea couldn’t stay away from Brevard. In 2013, they returned to Brevard to stay.  Listen to Ea and Don on the Morning Show, weekdays 7am to 9am.

 Robert Frank:

RobertFrankRobert is the News Director for WSQL radio. Born in KY, raised in PA, Robert then moved to Brevard in 1991. He is a graduate of Brevard High School, and attended East Tennessee State, majoring in Marketing. When he’s not digging up news, he can be found in the great outdoors or involved in any type of sports. He also delights in creating advertising packages for clients.

Ken Anderson:

Ken Anderson 2018An Arkansas native, Ken has been in Mississippi television his entire career as a sports anchor and producer.  He produced U. of MS coaches’ shows and did play-by-plays for football and basketball. For over 25 years, Ken has owned a TV production company while creating SEC programs for cable TV.

2 years ago, Ken and his wife Nancy fell in love with Brevard and have enjoyed the abundant outdoor activities and tremendous local music scene.  He is excited about plugging his broadcast experience into WSQL radio as the Manager of Sales, Programming and New Projects. .  Tom Stanwood:

Tom Stanwood CroppedWith over fifty years in broadcasting business,  Tom’s stints have spanned DJ/announcing, news reporting, helicopter news & traffic reporter, TV news, sales & marketing, and ultimately upper management of a group of 14 stations.  His radio stops over the years have taken him to Philadelphia, the U.S. Virgin Islands, Naples, FL and Northeast GA. Tom officially retired in 2006, but upon his recent move to Brevard, his discovery of White Squirrel Radio and the station’s widespread recognition in the community convinced him that there was still one more chapter to be written in his broadcast resume. Garry Paddick:

Garry_PaulaGarry and his wife, Paula, the co-author of G.R.I.T.S. (Girls Raised In The South), moved from Birmingham, AL to Brevard in 2009.  Garry grew up listening to The Grand Old Opry,  Ernest Tubb’s Midnight Jamboree, and a host of country music radio programs.  He has quite a collection of classic country music from the ’50s, ’60s, ’70s, and ’80s that he shares every Tuesday night, 8pm – 10pm on his Country Legends program.  Garry also hosts a Southern Gospel music program every Sunday morning at 9am.  Contact Garry at:  gpaddick@wsqlradio.com

 Rick James:

RickJamesCroppedRick first  joined WSQL in March, 2014 as our Sports Director and is ready for another exciting season of sports.  Most anything sports related, you’ll find Rick James involved!

After 8 years in the Navy and 7 years in St. Louis, Rick, a 1989 Brevard High School graduate, is the voice of Brevard College basketball. For 2011 & 2012, he was the head coach for Rosman Middle School.

Bill Kelly:

BillKellyCroppedBill was born and raised in Tryon, NC. Bill started in radio in the mid ’70s and worked in the Carolina’s, Louisiana, and St. Croix in the US Virgin Islands.  Bill is very active in Amateur (HAM) radio. He is our Program Director and always enjoys hearing from our listeners.  Bill is now back in Tryon, but can direct our programs thanks to the magic of technology!

 Barbara Kreager:

BarbaraBarbara, with her husband and their twin boys, moved to Brevard from Annapolis, MD in 1994. She has been in telecommunications as a corporate trainer and salesperson and joins the WSQL  staff as our Administrative Assistant.

 Michael Collins:

MichaelCollinsMichael is the fabulous host of Jazzylvania and the Southern Exposure Outdoor Concert series, is the compassion and driver behind the Bread of Life, is the proprietor of the Red Lion Inn in Rosman, NC…whew, just to name a few!

Michael also host the monthly broadcast of “LIVE at 185” which is the fun broadcasting from 185 King St. in Brevard. Hope to see you there!

Frank Pearsall:

Frank first heard bluegrass music in 1960.  He’s been listening to and collecting it since then.  He’s the host of WSQL 1240AM’s “Bluegrass Review” every Friday night from 8-10PM.  He plays traditional bluegrass from the 1940s through the 1970s.

Frank Kirkman:

Listen to Frank on Saturdays 10AM-Noon for “Swingtime.”  Listen to the Big Bands and Main Street Jazz from the ’30s to today with emphasis on the’40s when the term “swing” was created.  Frank (a retired musician and band leader from NY) and his wife moved to the Brevard area in 1985 and soon became active in the music scene.  He has been a professional drummer and is long time friends with some of the greats in Swing! Frank’s interest in radio began in 1990 when he became the spokesperson for Jazz at Brevard on WNCW in Spindale, NC.  When WSQL was WRAQ, Frank co-hosted a Big Band Bash on Friday nights with Jon Hildreth, and he continues as the Host of Big Band with WSQL.  Frank has happily been on the radio scene for 23 years!
